This year we held our harvest festival assembly on Thursday 5th October. We kindly asked the children to bring donations for the King’s Lynn Foodbank to school with them on the day.
The King’s Lynn Foodbank provides three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people referred to them in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks in The Trussell Trust network is donated by the public therefore all food donations are absolutely vital to their ability to give everyone referred to them a balanced and nutritious three day supply of food.
It is safe to say we were completely overwhelmed by the response and MRs Hodgson was delighted to drop this off to the foodbank who were extremely grateful.
Thank you to everybody who donated food to support this worthwhile local cause.
